| FAO Lev: Pressurefest 2008 Line-Up Doubt anyone else will be arsed, but the first bands have been announced.
36 Deadly Fists (exclusive Euro show)
Bitter End
Bun Dem Out
Cold World (exclusive Euro show)
Death Before Dishonor
Death Threat (exclusive Euro show)
Do Or Die
Meltdown
Reign Supreme
Resistance
Swear To God
The Boss
Throwdown
Good line-up, but nothing that makes me think it's worth the effort as yet. It's pretty much just a Ninjafest-level effort with Throwdown chucked in so far. Still plenty to go though, and most likely that'll include the headliners.
I still reckon Aggy Front will be one of them, wouldn't be surprised to see Dillinger Escape Plan either. I had originally predicted Madball, but they're all booked up that weekend. If Biohazard are gonna come to Europe this must surely be one of the places they're hitting too.

| Re: FAO Lev: Pressurefest 2008 Line-Up I think I'm kinda surprised Throwdown are tossed in there to the same lack of bravado as the other Euro bands announced so far... I'd have expected more "fuss" over them since they are now Roadrunner Kid Friendly. Such little hype over a popular American band gives me high hopes of BIG NAME headliners.
Biohazard could easily headline this, and it would be incredible, but they've completely blown the hype of their BIG COMEBACK TOUR with the fact that it will be kicked-off supporting KoRn in Australia. I imagine Seinfeld and co will take the briefcase full of money and a middle-of-the-bill slot at Download or similar over a credible hardcore festival. I'll keep my fingers crossed that they play PressureFest anyway, though. Well, that or SERENGETI FEST~!!
Nasty will almost definitely end up playing this, since their new album is out and EUROPE PURE LOVE IT. The continent, not the 80s rock band. They were supposed to play last year, but I can't remember seeing them? Nasty, not Europe.
Decent line-up so far anyway! |

I think more the former, since we missed the first couple of bands that day I'm sure.
I'd like to think that Throwdown will use the opportunity to actually remember their roots and play something approximating hardcore instead of their current Pantera tribute stuff, and maybe even admit that they're a straight edge band and bust out Raise Your Fist, since they now pretend that never happened in an attempt to be accepted by braindead metal fans. There'd hardly be a better venue to do so.
I definitely don't mind lining Evan's pockets with dough either way, anything to stop him ever making another porno flick, or to put the kibosh on that godawful Spyders band.

Shattered Realm (US - exclusive Euro show)
The Boss (BE - record release show)
Throwdown (US)
Trapped Under Ice (US)
It's still totally got that Ninjafest vibe going for it, and really needs a few bigger name bands to push it over the edge. These will seemingly be announced in the next couple of weeks, and the website has finally been updated, at least. The whole thing was set by this time last year though, lazy bastards.
Some boy had posted a full band list on the MySpace a few weeks back which got yanked shortly thereafter, and included every band that has since been added, so while a few on his list were still TBC anyway, were it accurate it would mean that Dillinger Escape Plan, Between The Buried And Me, Terror and Walls Of Jericho were among those left. Nothing that really jumped out and grabbed me by the throat and demanded I go TO THIS VERY FESTIVAL though. Biohazard are almost certainly a no-no now since they're playing With Full Force, which I can't go to because I'm going to see Iron Maiden that weekend.

| Re: FAO Lev: Pressurefest 2008 Line-Up That's part of my problem with it so far, there's nobody that I haven't seen within the last couple of years already or can't see without having to go to Germany, last year had Earth Crisis, Casey Jones, All Out War, all of whom I love and had never seen before (or since), along with the rest, not to mention the SOIA 'special fan set', which really only amounted to 3 songs that aren't on the usual set, 2 of which I'd seen them do before at odd gigs, but I'll forgive them for the RatPack moment
In saying this, the one trip to Germany, aside from being a fun experience and a real change of scenery, still works out cheaper or roughly the same as 2 or 3 trips down South (because let's be fair, none of those tours are getting booked up here), unless you know someone who's running a bus, or you've got a full carload. I would recommend going to Pressurefest at least once, it's amazing fun.
EDIT: Also, yeah DBDH are supporting Ignite.

I'd have loved to have booked bitter end up here or TUI but not with 2 other touring bands on each tour mone for it would most likely be stupid.
Would've loved to have gone over last year if I had the money especially to see AOW must've been rowdy full of crazy germans punching each other in the face for a laugh. Quote:

Decent line-up so far anyway! | Imagine biohazard actually playing a hardcore show these days though, it would be funny as hell especially if they just played stuff off of the later albums " I WILL NEVER SELL MY SOUL" LOL

| Re: FAO Lev: Pressurefest 2008 Line-Up Most of the bands that I want to see at PressureFest are bands I have seen before in some capacity, so it's slipping in priority a fair bit.
In fairness, I think I'm comparing it to last year's experience a lot, and in all honesty that could have just been a one-of-a-kind never-see-the-likes-of-it-again lineup for me. The bands on 2008's lineup are alright, I'm probably being unfairly harsh.
Here, GJM, you've been to With Full Force before, right? How did you get there, and were there any hotels nearby?
I know the ticket price includes a camping spot, but dirt, grass, stockpiles of shit all up in the portacabins and bare cocks all up in the public showers just are not how the fatboss rolls. Life of Agony, Biohazard, Madball, Machine Head, Cavalera Conspiracy, Born From Pain, Stuck Mojo, Six Feet Under and a whole bunch of other pretty decent bands followed by my own shower then currywurst and TV from the comfort of an actual bed sounds like a world-beater to me though. |

Camping at Furyfest was nowhere near as bad as any British festival I've been to, but after the straight pimp lifestyle we lived at Pressurefest last year I don't think I'll ever go back to slumming it in a tent surrounded by hundreds of liqoured-up bustas intent on out-madskulling each other.
