| Re: Connect Festival 2008 Perhaps I don't need to rush to the campsite tomorrow then if it's gonna be half empty!? Or do I still want to get there early so I don't need to pitch my tent in a pond? |

| Re: Connect Festival 2008 The awful camping and car park at Connect were made up for last year by how unique the festival was, compared to the other UK ones. Now, after poor ticket sales, they've tried to attract the TITP crowd and forgotten about being unique. It's TITP-lite in a more remote place and at a time of year when it's colder and far more likely to pour with rain.
One thing that definitely won't help is that Manic Street Preachers and Kasabian were headlining stages at other, more established, festivals last week (Reading/Leeds and Creamfields). Shame really, after last year I really wanted the festival to do well. |

| Re: Connect Festival 2008 Just back, had a great time however clearly I didn't make it to the end... We got rained out of the campsite this morning and all got thoroughly soaked. So feeling miserable we trudged to the cars to put our gear away and then couldn't face the bastard walk back so came home! Lightweight piking I know but I just had an amazing 30mins on a nice clean loo...heaven. |

| Re: Connect Festival 2008 It was very poor actually, not sure on the number but way less people than last year. I still liked the numbers though, there was enough to get a decent bit of atmosphere down the front of the stages but place was easy enough to walk around.
I'm not sure what they are going to do next year as a result of the poor ticket sales but it'd be a shame if it were to die a death. They need to go back to last years tact of getting less chart acts and more golden oldies or US indie bands. Plus there wasn't nearly enough Scottish acts like Sons'n'Daughters, Malkie Middleton, Belle & Seb etc. Although despite some peoples hatred for her I really enjoyed Amy MacDonald this weekend. |

| Re: Connect Festival 2008 Headed up Saturday morning and stayed for the weekend.
Really really enjoyed it.
What's not to enjoy about lying pissed in a tent for 48 hours and then completely fucking spazzing out to Sigur Ros.

Crackin' weekend all round.
My musical highlights:
Sigur Ros
Optimo
Ivan Smagghe
Gomez
Beardyman
Grinderman
The Faint
Lou Hicky
and surprisingly the Manics.
Tremendous food,
fun in the mud,
nice cosy tent

| Re: Connect Festival 2008 my mate cleared the Koppaberg tent by opening his dj set with Gary Glitter.
i was pleasantly surprised by the toilets. i never had to queue once and they were always clean (apart from the floor being obviously covered in mud)
