Statues
Glorious power punk from across the pond. Statues are all rimmed spectacles and barely distorted guitars, bringing to mind the best parts of The Jam and Buzzcocks, with a bit of The Briefs and even a hint of Jawbreaker thrown in there. It seems that Canadian bands have a knack of taking old school influences and doing something interesting with them - long may this continue!

Another day, another American pop-punk band you might say. Methinks, though, that Dirty Tactics are doing something a bit different. There's the obligatory Pegboy influence, but way more nods to the likes of The Lawrence Arms and Discount than you might expect. And as much as I dig all those gruff-voiced No Idea bands, this is a pleasant change.

Clydeside death surf destruction, like if Dick Dale got himself some liberty spikes. You've probably caught this lot before, but if not then think a slower Nerve Agents or Agent Orange with better songwriting.

Only the 2nd outing for Glasgow's latest pop-punk band. There's more Lillingtons/Teenage Bottlerocket worship here than you could possibly shake a stick at...but that's not a bad thing in my book.
