Amphetameanies at King Tuts - *Updated - HOGMANAY 2009/10*

morning all

its been aaaages since I've been able to use my AN account.... but my helpful boss just put in a shiny new computer system that seems to have a much more feeble firewall. Bless.

just in time for me to highlight our next gig.

The Amphetameanies
King Tuts Wah Wah Hut
Saturday 28th June

with handpicked support from
Root System - if you liked the Newtown Grunts, this sweaty Fifeish ska punk should appeal
Short Notice - quiffs, tattoos, a double bass. canny beat a bit of 'billy.

all the usual meanie delays allowing, we should have our new EP back from the pressing plant by then too..... well, the title track ain't new.... its Goodbye Boyfriend off the last album, judged by all as our best chance of radio play any time this year.... but to ensure value for money, there's three all new tracks about, variously, what happens when you don't know better and drink, rather than inhale, poppers; penis envy between men; and a rather theatrical 'concept' song about nostalgia bores.

but no free whisky this year. that was a 10th birthday thing. and christ did we get in trouble with Tuts for undermining their bar takings...

Re: Amphetameanies at King Tuts - June 28th

well, its SILLY having separate bits for 'band news' AND 'gigs'

ist bound to cause duplication

unless 'band news' is meant for stuff like 'ummmm, its my drummer's birthday today' or 'I broke a string (again)'

Re: Amphetameanies at King Tuts - June 28th

I THINK we may just have got away with it...

but I'm making a mental note about limiting the number of new songs in the set at hometown gigs....

total strangers in Frankfurt don't know a 1998 vintage from a cheeky Beaujolais-nouveau-fermented-last-week-in-a-drug-haze.... but Tuts regulars expect the CLASSICS*

*the term 'Classic' does not imply quality

Re: Amphetameanies at King Tuts - June 28th

Jingle jingle

The Amphetameanies play Stereo (nr Glasgow Central Station) on Thursday 18th December.

Our less-good-looking east coast counterparts, Bombskare, will do the supporting.

Miffed by the last couple of Tuts gigs where our crowd were thrown out before the last cymbal had stopped shaking, we've opted for Stereo because they've promised generous drinking and dancing time afterwards.

Re: Amphetameanies at King Tuts - June 28th

we always said that King Tuts couldn'y pay us enough to ever play Hogmanay again....

we were wrong.

Thursday 31st December - The Amphetameanies - King Tuts.
Doors 8pm, meanies and handpicked support acts (Bucky Rage confirmed so far) till 11pm, then New Year partying, with DJs and bar till 1am.

£10, tickets on sale now. God help us.
