    TBC (Together Beat Cancer 2009)

    Hey guys. I have recently just discovered Alternative Nation and i have to say i'm really impressed with the diversity of musical discussions on it. Normally it will be the usual generic patter but this seems to be a bit different.

    Im part of a team organising a night of music at the art school of Glasgow on 24th Oct 2009 to showcase the finest imerging talent in the Scottish contemporary scene. This great night will give fans the opportunity to discover new music, support existing favourites and better still? All the proceeds go directly to Cancer Research UK. Amazing music and all for a good cause, it's win, win. Below are details and we hope you like what you hear and come along to support this event!!

    TBC 09's line up is as follows;

    The Fire & I - http://www.myspace.com/thefireandi
    An energetic alternative rock two-piece acclaimed for their high energy, adrenaline-fuelled performances. Need to be seen live & the absolute embodyment of the rock and roll spirit!

    Pearl & The Puppets [Solo Performance] - http://www.myspace.com/pearlandthepuppets
    Pearl's atmospheric, innocent and quirky songs capture the coming of age spirit while breaking through the barriers of expectation. A favourite of no less than Elton John, whom he hand picked to support him at the SECC in June; an unquestionable star of the future.

    Mr Kil - http://www.myspace.com/mrkil
    Rock four-piece whose atmospheric, classic stylings are as powerful as they are moving. Featuring the phenomenal vocals of Joe Gallacher, Mr Kil are tipped by many in the know as one of the bands to watch this year. Supporting the Proclaimers on their forthcoming Scottish tour.

    Club in association with Soma Records featuring;

    Harvey McKay - http://www.myspace.com/harvproducer
    One of a school of new young artists to come out from Glasgow’s thriving underground club circuit. Harvey's debut album 'Machines Make Noise' is due out in November on Soma Records.

    Compere: Harry Gooch (Fence Records/Radio Magnetic)

    Many prizes to be won on the night including;
    Weekend break for two in Perthshire / Spa Session / Old Firm Memorabilia / Dinner vouchers for Crabshakk & Tickets for the Stand and more TBC!

    Special prize draw limited to first 150 through the doors!
