[setlist] dV8 10.05.03. WORK, YOU SOD!

Most.
Annoying.
Night.
Ever.

I find out upon arrival that the venue has a brand new double-CD player.
Cool.
Then I notice that it doesn't have jog dials.
OK, I can deal with that, I guess...
THEN I realise that CD2 in this player won't read discs every time - 3 times out of 5 it'll spit the disc back out, and take about 7 or 8 ejects and reinsertions before it'll see the disc.

So I bung the next track into the CD drive in my laptop.

Which I THOUGHT was plugged in...

Laptop went into hibernation mode, needed rebooted... twice.
I literally got it up, running, and playing a song JUST as the last track on the working CD player finished. NO time to spare whatsoever.

From then on, the bastard CD player kept taking the piss, and every time anyone jumped off the stage onto the dancefloor too hard after making a request, we got a nice 2 second silence.

So aye, tonight's dV8 was brought to you by the letters F, U, C, K and U, and by the number 2.

That all said, it was a bloody fun night, and I myself got a lot of funsome dancin' in. One of my best and oldest mates showed up unexpectedly, so that was wicked

Nope.
We're on a summer holiday, dV8 should be back in September.
Probably on Fridays.

A selection of fucking excellent songs, which I missed by being too drunk to not go home.

Still, that was a fantastic night. Good songs, good drunkenness, good peoples. I hadn't seen Eli & Jay in a while, either. So that was nice.

Apologies:

Lynn - I'm sorry I turned you upside-down and stole your shoe. That was downright unpleasant of me.

Union-staff - Sorry I vomited on the way to the toilets. It was only a wee bit. Too much of a bloody trek from Vertigo, that's the problem.

Boffo. A good one.

Damn good night and a damn, damn, damned good laugh (as per every dV8).

By the way Lang, NIN - Broken got played at some point as well, though I can't remember when. Think it was just after No Remorse.

Admit it, this was deliberate, since you knew I was in the Darkroom at the time.

Either that, or my automobile related subconscious infiltration is working again....

...and that's what I heard while covering a break.

Darkroom was deserted last night, we closed just after 2, and after clearing the tables from Vertigo we were outta there. Home by half 3, which was nice.

Oooh, what sort of fuck up?

That sounds intriguing. We'd already cleared the tables down the stairs, and Vertigo doesn't take an hour an a half to clear, especially if the tables are already gone.

I think this is right...................

There is a lift that takes you down to the loading bay so you can get rid of the rubbish, with a door that needs a bin put in front of it (so the door doesn't close shut) Well someone *looks at Desova* forgot to put the bin in front of it. And as there is no Key for that door, and it couldn't be kicked open. A joiner had to be called out at 4am, at 4:30am, he managed to break the lock.

Quite a few people were prbly pissed off by having to hang around for the joiner..................
