| Re: Band Nights at the Union You know what, I stand corrected. I went to Vertigo last night for a couple of beers and to see what the fuss was about, and there was close to 100 people there at it's peak. The bands were pretty good. Not my thing really, but decent enough to want to stay and listen to. I'll be going to that again in the future I think

| Re: Band Nights at the Union East 17's tonight, if you want to see them come early, theres only 500 capacity!
the band nights are pretty cool, i wasnt working so i went to last one. the bands so far have all been pretty good. but unfortunately at the moment theres no lists going up of whos playing so its really just a bit of a gamble, its usually along the indie/punk/rock theme though.
plus, theres cheap drink

| Re: Band Nights at the Union Yeah since the days of grunge. I dont understand why it went so downhill, why was it allowed to stagnate ? local gigs plus cheap drink should be popular....

| Re: Band Nights at the Union Something at the Union?
Mis-managed to hell, and allowed to stagnate?
Surely NOT!!!
I've never heard of such a thing! The Union is one of the most professional organisations I've ever experienced, and they're certainly not in the business of fucking people over, ruining their own nights, or generally being useless... |

Especially in Vertigo. There's a trade off between cheap and comsumable, and while the drinks may be relatively cheap, they aren't consumable.
My advice to surviving Vertigo = Stay away from anything draught, anything with ice, check the use-by dates on all bottles (no, really, do it), and for the love of god, don't drink the water. |

It never actually occured to me to check the dates, but now i think about it, level 8 is so rarely used it wouldnt be unusual for beer to lie in the fridge well past it's time. I'll be taking this advice in the future i think...

| Re: Band Nights at the Union drinking draught stuff, should be obvious to anyone in level 8, to be a very. very. bad idea.
