ok....just dug out the pile of posters i have from when mupps was still the dj and it says "rock, metal, punk and industrial".

the only difference between these ones and the new ones is muppet's name has been replaced by dec's.

The fact still remains that Gain isn't a niche night, therefore the DJ's have to collectively play music to cater for the majority in the Alternative scene. I'm sure Metal is one of the genres they cover, along with many more. If you want to bitch and moan about the lack of Metal being played then go ahead and find a good niche Metal night in Glasgow... I think you'll be hard pressed to find one, never mind one in a popular club. There isn't a club crowd for Metal nights, not until the Metal scene evolves alongside other genres/scenes. Why bitch about the existing nights which are collectively keeping the Alternative scene alive in general? If these nights are crossover nights then so be it, it's not the DJ's fault or the promoters fault; it's the scenes!

I'll still bitch and moan about the lack of Industrial music being played in Glasgow, but at least I'm being proactive. Be it by going to gigs, night clubs or DJing. Why don't you stop bitching on the Internet at two lads, that so far, have obviously done a good job since they both have a residency in Glasgow's biggest Alternative club.

Well said that crusher, paul always moas at us when he requests shite and we ingore him (love ya really) But rather than needlessly complain he accepts that not everyone likes or wants his taste in music.

So you have two choices, go otu and be proactive and positive, get a night together and do your thing..... Or you can carry on complaining. Your choice, but for the record i know what i did when i was in your situation and now i have my own night.
