How To Search altnation.com From Your Browser

For Internet Explorer 7 and Firefox 2 users it is now possible to search Alternative Nation right from within your browser’s search bar.


For Internet Explorer 7

Browse to any altnation.com page and the arrow next to the search box should glow orange. Click it and you'll see altnation.com as an option to search. You can use the “Add Search Provider” option to make it available even when you browse away from Altnation. (Why you'd ever leave us is beyond reasoning though!)

For Firefox 2

Browse to any altnation.com page and click the arrow next to the search box icon. You should be able to see an “Add "altnation.com"” option and, once chosen, it will be available even when you browse away from Altnation. (Don’t worry, you’ll be back.)

Note: Currently results will only show as threads rather than posts no matter what your saved search preferences are and you'll have to already be logged in unless you want to be interrupted by a request for image verification.

Shortcuts -

To access the search bar from FireFox, press Ctrl + E
To cycle through your search options in FireFox, hold Ctrl and press the up or down arrow keys.

I believe in IE7 you have to press Ctrl + E twice to get to the search bar (the first one iirc jumps you to the URL bar, same as F6)
