A very cool job at times but first and foremost it’s a job like any other. We have working hours and we like to go home after a hard day’s work. So why is it people seem to believe that we live in the studio and do tattoos 24 hours a day? (Ok I don’t actually do the tattooing but you get what I mean) “The tattoo will take at least two and a half hours, I am afraid we won’t have time today.”
“…can’t you do it later on?”
“No, because I want to go home at some point.”
“But I really want tattooed today.”
“…and I want to go home at some point today.”
We do try and accommodate as many people as possible, however it is impossible to please everyone all the time. What baffles me about some customers is that if the roles where reversed and it was I asking them to work an extra two and half hours after they were supposed to finish work I am sure they would react in much the same way as I.
I saw a sign once that said “poor planning on your part does not make it an emergency on my part.” At times I would kill for that sign in the shop. | | | |

Except for some reason I'm expected (and I do) stay at a jobsite till 2-3am if necessary to get stuff done. But we IT folks are wacky like that. |

But yip, happens in every job. Doesn't stop it being frustrating/annoying when it happens to you though.

| Re: Tattooing is a JOB! All the good ones are exactly the same mind you...me n the roommate occasionally have work sessions that intersect - and we both wind up forgetting to remind the other to eat. |

I had to get the Maryhill Shopping Centre security round a couple of times to chuck people out cos they refused to leave until they had chosen their DVD. Grrr

| Re: Tattooing is a JOB! There are studios in other countries that open till midnight and fair play to them its the hours they want to work. what i dont get is that people seem to think that even though we have worked a full day that we are being unreasonable because we dont want to work another X amount of hours so that they can get their tattoo even tho its quater to 6 and we close at six.
it may be just me but if i am shopping i try to avoid being in any shop 15 mins before closing because i know that they want to go home asap.
