| Re: cover letter help Half a page seems a little too short to me but then that's just me. You definitely need to put why you're applying and what you can offer them anyway, even if only a couple of sentences on each.

| Re: cover letter help think of it this way. you are an employer, you have recieved 100 CVs for a job. each letter is a page and a half, each cv is 2 full pages. would you read them all? or each letter is short and to the point, without repeating whats in the CV. if the letter is interesting enough it'll make you want to read the CV. if the letter prattles on basically saying everything thats in the CV then you'll get an impression that thats what the person is like, longwinded and repetative.
i want something that makes them want to meet me, not something that puts them off me

i want something that makes them want to meet me, not something that puts them off me | I'm not saying a page and a half, I'm saying 2/3rds of a page to a page, which isn't to me - or employer's I've sent them to - long winded. 2 sentences isn't enough for me to say why I want a job and why I'd be good at it.
Different people/employers have different perspectives, but every guide I've seen in uni suggests a page, and every example given is a page.
