| Post-interview So I've been having a look at a few sites that recommend sending a post-interview letter/e-mail to say thank you and to reinforce key points. I've never done this in the past, and to be honest, it seems a bit pushy to me but I was wondering what others thought?
The interview went reasonably well, apart from my hair looking like the back end of a squirrel after walking through the wind and rain to get there, and they'll call me next week to let me know if I get to second interview.
Has anyone sent a thank you note to a potential employer? Did you get the job? Did they mention the note?
Recruiters: what do you think when a candidate sends you a thank you note?
Bearing in mind, this is not a particularly high-level position (marketing exec.) I can see it being useful for more senior positions, but it seems a bit strange to me at this level. |

| Re: Post-interview I have asked for post interview feedback, especially after not getting the job and getting the usual vague bollocks (high caliber of candidates flah etc) to see in what ways i coould've gotten the job over other folk. Shows you're actually interested in that job as opposed to a job i suppose.

| Re: Post-interview I think that's quite silly and pointless; i mean, you've done the interview, they know who they want and what they are looking for, so adding a letter to the whole application and interview phase seems really pointless.

| Re: Post-interview Hmm, not sure..... Any positions I've ever gone for have stuck quite rigidly to an application process.
What I have done in the past is send a letter when i've not been succesful in an interview and asked for feedback. Often the feedback you get is really useful. |

| Re: Post-interview For the interviews i've done recently, anyone trying to contact me via email, call or letter between the interview and the date I said i would get back to them, hasn't stood in good stead for them. It annoyed me them trying to get over everyone else, and only refreshed their name in my head in a bad light.
I wouldn't send a letter or anything else. If you get knockedback or its after the date they said they'd get back to you, then ask for feedback.
I'd tell my clients to keep on at the employer after the interview if it was a sales position, but only in that instance. To show you have a brass neck, and will push for what you want to sell.
Hope it makes sense, i'm starving and can only think of the steak pie getting made.

| Re: Post-interview It'd be a complete waste of your time, to be honest, for the reasons a couple of folk have said. By all means ask for feedback, that's constructive. The ones I get go straight into 'actioned' and don't get acknowledgements. |

| Re: Post-interview Depends on the job, the application and interview process. If you feel it's appropriate, then go for it, if you feel that it may be looked on poorly, then don't. You sound like you've already decided it's a bad idea in your first post. |
