| second interviews... So the job I really, really want I got a 2nd interview for, its a more informal interview I'm told, still going to take the suit and everything, what else is required for it? I'm studying up on all the things that were talked about during the initial interview, expecting for more in depth questions regarding some of these subjects.
Never been asked for a 2nd interview before, its a bit nerve racking. |

It was advertised as a job for maintenance but when i got there was informed it's now based more in design and development than maintenance, which is great as what I want to be doing, but meant it wasn't really what I had studied up on.
The letter i got asking if I would go for the 2nd interview says its so I have the opportunity to see the facilities that are available, meet the other staff that I would be working with and get a better understanding of there requirements. They were very interested in some PLC work I had done at uni, I was wondering if I should take some of this work with me to show them, as its somewhere they want to expand to and they seemed surprised that I had done a fair chunk of it before with it being my final year project. |

| Re: second interviews... If you think it could come in handy, take it.
They'll probably want to see that you have a good broad understanding of the industry, so I'd be looking up as much company info as possible and try and demonstrate where that particular business is going. |

Use it as a chance to ask questions too, whether you will get training, project work, chance for promotion etc etc. When you go on the tour ask questions, regardless how dumb, it shows you're interested and plan to learn more. If you are going round somewhere industrial/food/pharma related keep hair and jewellery minimal cos otherwise you have to don allsorts of weird shit! Best of british!

| Re: second interviews... Got the job, starting on the 15th. Basically they showed me around the building/introduced me the team (there will be 3 of us :O) and then phoned me this afternoon to offer me the post. So glad, not many people get a job straight out of uni in a job that sounds fantastic, and I am being offered all sorts of training too. Excellent. |
