Rise, recruitment firm

Anyone got any experience working with these guys? Got an interview with them tomorrow.

Never used a recruitment company before, dunno what to expect.

Re: Rise, recruitment firm

Agencies always seem alot more laidback than an actual employer. Fairly casual interviews from my experience. They'll just go through your skills and experience so they have a wee profile of you they can pitch to employers.

It'll be as easy as poaching an egg.

PAPA LAZEROU bites the hand that feeds
Re: Rise, recruitment firm

Ive worked for a few agencies before that i wont name (to save them embarrassment). They can be good as they are the ones that do all the fucking about to get you the job but always bear in mind...they take a chunk of your pay. I worked in Motorollup through an agency......The full timers in there got £13 an hour......we got £4.50. I asked about this and it was dismissed as 'agency fees'. Thats nearly a fucking tenner an hour and there was close to 100 agency staff in there at the time...all working 12 hour shifts. that worked out about 12 grand a DAY those fucks were raking in and that was just from that one site.

They are good at getting you work though, just sometimes nothing like what you are after. I always did SMT Debug and Repair.......a certain(cretin more like) agency in Motherwell kept phoning me and offering me jobs in sandwich factorys and in warehouses. When i asked why they kept doing this they told me it was because i said that was the kind of work i was looking for.....after having 8 years in debug and repair im sure i really wanna make somecunts sandwiches.

Remember this too....they can get bodies left right and centre, especially nowadays, so sometimes you get messed right about.

Re: Rise, recruitment firm

Depends what it's for. They were useless for me. Got me in for one specific assignment and when that was over they just didn't bother putting me up for anything else, despite lots of phone calls and e-mails.

The last time I was looking for a Job, about 2 years ago, I went through a load of interviews with them for various Jobs. Never once did I get any word back from the ones I went for, but they always seemed to push RHL on me.

Re: Rise, recruitment firm

RHL is now Response.
A call center, that takes you on a tempoary contract, for 12 weeks.
90% of the time you won't be offered a permenant contract.

Rise is Response's main agency recruiter

Its not so much of a call centre, rather, a big room with no air-con or windows where everyone is chained to the floor and a big bloated guy with no top on and a hangmans mask struts around and beats the 'staff' with a big stick whilst belly laughing at their ever-lasting torture.

There is yer reason why im an Engineer....i would rather eat out of bins than work in a call centre

You must be talking about the Ibrox one :P

I worked in Clydebank, it was alright.... we had air con and windows.

Only down side was the polish lass who liked to burn things in the cantine.

And she couldn't make beans on toast properly!
She'd make a beans and toast sandwich!

Seriously but, avoid Response

Re: Rise, recruitment firm

On another note about Response.
I was offered a fulltime permenant contract, then i asked for time off as my mate had died, I came back and was in work, when RISE called and told me not to go into work today, as my contract has ceased.

I was a little bit annoyed, as the week before the 'head office' person had said once i came back, we'd get all the paperwork done.
