am i wrong to thing that if someone hands you something in the street you shouldn't be expected to give them money for it? and when you hand someone something with no mention of money changing hands you're an ignorant cow for snatching it back when refused? | she does it all the time. always wants money for them. love, i could go pick my own out a field, do you honestly think i'm gonna give you money for your shitty wee thing?

The heather's a feeble attempt to claim that they're not begging, but selling.
Bollocks. Specially when they pull the shit mentioned in the O.P.
[ *Cue "Daily Scapegoat" posts. ] | And if they're selling they need a street liscence.
For some reason this just reminded me of the time Steve was waiting for me outside my work on Union St and someone approached him and asked if he had any spare jewellery.

They hand you a fake Rolex (or other fake big brand item) urging you to "take a look at how beautiful it is" then refuse to take it back from you, demanding payment. |

Around 20 for something to be brought up in parliament, apparently. I can think of a million and one more pressing issues than street sellers though. |

As for the question in the first post:
Yes - It's unreasonable to think you get anything for free these days...

| Re: unreasonable? Anyone who thinks that a twig wrapped in tinfoil can bring them luck, should be allowed to part with their money for said twig and tinfoil.
That woman approached me on Wednesday on Buchannon St, then she backed off when I put on my stern, not amused face and an abrupt "hell no".
I'm pretty sure though that if anyone had approached me on Wednesday afternoon at that time they would of gotten the same. |
