| unreasonable? reet
walking down buchanan street the other day, get to just before borders.
see this woman with a wee pile of heather in her hand, with tin foil round the bottom seperating them into wee sprigs. she hands me one, says nothing, with a smile.
as i walk away she says "can you spare any change?" i said no and kept walking, she said the same again, i said no again and kept walking (she followed us down a fair bit of the street). then stormed up behind me and grabbed the heather out my hand and shouted "ITS NOT FREE THEN" and trotted back up the street to where i firsts seen her.
am i wrong to thing that if someone hands you something in the street you shouldn't be expected to give them money for it? and when you hand someone something with no mention of money changing hands you're an ignorant cow for snatching it back when refused? |

| Re: unreasonable? You should know better, to be honest.
I mean if you follow it to the letter, she should've agreed a price of sale before handing you the goods. But let's no kid on, her house probably has wheels on it. That's the sort of person you were dealing with.

The people with the roses are fucking terrifying too.
My man took pity on one and gave her some money, and then we had about 4 or 5 come up to us right after.

I mean I recognise them after 3 months so you'd think they realise I've told them to GO AWAY the last 12 weeks by now.

| Re: unreasonable? I hate that. UGH. Also hate it when grinningh christian loonies give yopu a pamphlet and you go "eer thanks" and then as yopu try to walk away with it (to put it in the nearest bin) you realise that they are still holding onto it, still grining and then say "£2 pleae"

| Re: unreasonable? i seen that wee woman the other day too Rikki!!!
she was standing just at nelson mandela place kinda bit on buchanan street
but aye she sounds (and looked) like a gypsy type
either way i dont believe she had a licence so what she was doing was illegal - you cant sell stuff on the street or ask for money for it and deem things not to be free unless you have a licence as far as im aware

| Re: unreasonable? Here, can you say gypo?
I'm fairly certain the word gpyo is racist now..
I'm sure I got a post edited for saying gypo.
Infact, it was toast that said "You can't say gypo".
Gypo.
