| Deletion of "Five Pillars of Islam" thread. Is it just because the thread suddenly went slightly off topic for a ridiculously brief period of time, or have the unjustified calls of "This here be spam" been heeded?
Retarded either way. |

| Re: Deletion of "Five Pillars of Islam" thread. So, wait, what exactly are the criteria in deciding whether something's spam or not (if any)? There's plenty of threads kicking about that are a blatant copy and paste job, or wordy summaries a la TragicHero. Plus, the user has replied now and again to questions in previous threads of his, so I don't see why it couldn't have at least waited a while to see if any response was forthcoming.
Or is it just based on how many forumers find it annoying? |

Or is it just based on how many forumers find it annoying? | One would argue that posting with a view to preach his particular values rather than discuss them is spamming. If he actually replied to posts instead of just acknowledging then preaching even more I'd have more patience.

He's replied sensibly to me several times. And he keeps things in the appropriate forum which, after all, is to do with discussing religious matters.
I'm with Dario in not getting the backlash against this particular user. Like he said, there're plenty of threads started with copy/paste jobs. There're plenty of threads started with just lengthy affirmations of a particular viewpoint with no explicit invitation to discuss. But we seem to give those people the benefit of the doubt and decide that the invitation to discuss is implicit, probably because it's been posted on a discussion board. But not for this guy.
Is it because it's religious in this case? Is that the problem?

I've never seen the user in any other thread besides the ones he's started himself, and they're always on the one same topic. So I'm actually with Forbes on this one. altnation is not a lowley message board, it's a community where people interact.
I dont think I explained that very well (fuzzy head) but aye. I'm with forbes.
ps. sort that road jeans fanny oot too please

ps. sort that road jeans fanny oot too please | But there are people who only post in the tattoos forum, a few who only post in the music forums and there are also a couple of people who only post in the politics forum.
We have loads of users who aren't part of the larger community, and no-one ever questions their right to be here, yet this guy somehow gives lots of people the rage.
I mean, Forbes can obviously delete what he likes for whatever reason he wants.
Just wondering why this guy in particular provokes such a backlash.

Just wondering why this guy in particular provokes such a backlash. | I'm quite sure that thoose who post in the tattoos/music/footy forums post in threads other than their own, and converse with other members, in other members threads, and discuss openly without (complete) pregudice other members preferences in body modification/aural likes/ favourite teams.
I think the user give alot of people a complete rage-on, because he's like a £5 toy train set at christmas. It's all new and interesting for a few minutes, but once you've seen that piece of exported mass produced plastic go in a loop for the fifteenth time, it gets annoying because you realise that the thing which had potential to be really interesting, just ended up repetative, boring and shite.
my grammar is broken.

Folk used to post pictures in that Jokers Pact thread only because it was somewhere to host them and posted nowhere else but they were allowed to stay for years and that forum is still in action I think.
If this guy posted about Star Wars, Lost or Heroes and only about those subjects and didn't reply to anyones questions about the subject then no one would give a fuck. |

my grammar is broken. | But being boring and shite isn't against the rules, and there are far more boring and shite users than this guy.
And this guy does converse. He may mainly stick to his own threads (not always though) but, again, there's nothing inherently wrong with that. Also, there're plenty of users who regularly exhibit prejudice to do with their beliefs or tastes .
