What was your reason behind trying (Illegal) Drugs?

Kind of a spin off from Danny's thread.

If you have tried an 'illegal drug', what were the reasons behind it. I know some people for whom it was a peer pressure thing or "everyone else was doing it" scenario.


For me it was my natural curiosity/stupidity. It was never a rebellious or "I'm cool for doing this" effort as most of my mates hated the idea of them, so I didn't, and still seldom do, bring up the topic with a lot of my mates.
I actively sought out stuff to try, which is hard as fuck by the way when you're young with no connections, as after hearing about the effects of narcotics since primary school it was something I had always been interested in, not like a hobby, and being a 'risk' taker as it were, it was something I was happy to try my hand at.

Not planning on opening up some sort of debate, I've just always wondered how other people came to it.

something to do I guess...I must have been a fucking nightmare the first time I tried pills, I remember being all 'SO THIS IS WHY IT'S CALLED ECSTASY, FUCKING AMAZING' and running a lot because it was the best feeling in the whole entire world.

I did them because they were there.

I can't think of any other reason. 'Theres something to smoke, I'll have that. Oh, well if theres pills going free I'm not passing up a bargain'. I went on a world tour of drugs when I lived in Dundee for a lack of anything better to do.

Outside of recreational illegals, I took some other stuff out of curiosity and because it was a bargain.

Er, I started smoking weed i think due to just being bored in school. Also 'cause my mum is totally 'anti-drugs' and i thought I was a rebellious wee shit.

Anything else i've done has been through curiousity.
