If I had to choose between opening or closing the rep system I'd say close it.

Opening it would leave it open to flaming, and tit-for-tatting. Sure, people would give each other positive rep, but it would be biased.

Closing it would save a lot of work, and a lot of potential trouble caused by it.

dont do one with who got the lower rep

l am supprised l aint in the neg rep yet l seame to jsut sit some were between 10 and 19 point never go any higher or lower than that

I only have 30 rep points, so don't do the lowest, I just want more GOOD rep points

Ah, this is an interesting new development. Now, the reason I gave Jeff the neg rep was to see if he would use his sway with the admin in order to find out who gave him it, thus I was be able to question some double standards at work.

There really was no malice intended, and I was going to offer him some positive rep once the chance arose.

Of course, now it seems that supermods can see who gave them it anyway, so my wee experiment wasn't needed.

Of course, our friendly supermods, the teachers who have to educate us plebs on how to be a good little forum user, they wouldn't abuse this system by indulging in a little tit-for-tat repping, would they? Nah, surely not. They wouldn't say give you a negative rep in return with the exact same words you used in the one you gave them with an added 'Bitch' at the end? Would they? Because surely that'd be setting a bad example, and if our darling teacher/parent/shepherds/whatever patronising term you want to use to further your superiority complex can't be trusted not to abuse the system, then we can't be either.

Shannow summed up my whole thoughts on the matter perfectly. The reasons why reps were originally anonymous still stand.
