| Organising a gig? Avoid this band! Just a warning to folks on this forum. If you organise gigs or know someone who does, make sure that LIFELORDS aren't on it. We gave them a major support slot which they no-showed without so much as the courtesy of a phone call. We did all we could to try and reach them including sending someone round to one of their houses and still nothing. Turns out they were on Myspace during the gig, so we know at least one of them would have been available to talk to us.
They've got a load of European dates lined up, but to be honest if this is how they treat promoters in Glasgow then I can't see why anyone else would touch them! |

| Re: Organising a gig? Avoid this band! Doesn't strike me as particularly professional of a promotions company to come on to a public forum to specifically slate a band either.
No offence, but if you came looking for sympathy, you're going to be sorely dissappointed.

| Re: Organising a gig? Avoid this band! It doesn't read as particularly slating to me. The band did not show up. All possible avenues were apparently looked at to contact them as they failed to contact the venue with negative results. If a band is to be taken seriously then communicating to a venue if you can't turn up sounds reasonable to me, and would probably ensure that they can play there again. If one of the band was, as is suggested, seen on an internet site whilst they should have been at the venue, I don't think it is unreasonable for one of them to advise the venue of the problem, which may well have been more than reasonable and understandable. Whilst it may not be something that is seen to often, warning promotors of potential issues seems reasonable.
Although, I may have worded the post a little differently.

It will be interesting to see how long the PhP comment is left on the page. And by interesting I mean a waste of time. |

It is the promoters problem, nobody elses. Perhaps the band had a problem with the promoter. Quote:

Particularly a Pay To Play promoter. Next month I'll have completely forgotten the name of the band in question, as will most people, but next year I'll still remember the first impression that PettyHumanPromotions have made with this thread. Bit of an own goal really. I wouldn't be likely to work with them based on this thread, i daresay that others are of a similar opinion. |
