Not got as much time to get into daft arguments with folk these days - But if someone looks like a C&P cunt, it's a matter of seconds to Google their username to see how many other forums they've been at, and it's been getting right on my tits of late as there've been a few such idiots flooding a couple of other forums I mod with their pish.

ROFLMAO - by accident I've stumbled on my own band being plugged (if you can call it that - with the cynical ha ha).

Whether we're any good or not is really a matter of taste and music compatibility. We get great reviews and crap reviews and gave up caring about either a long time ago (why do you think we're called So Shush - reviews will always be about the reviewer) - so long as our names out there and draws in our particular audience (beyond people in the market for trainers).

Given I wrote half the album I've just legitimised this post - so there - if you want to know whether we're any good or not - click on the link - if its a throrougly unpleasent experience click on some other links instead and find something new to float your boat. Or if you don't want something new - don't click at all - the world is just full of happy options.

Listening to you guys now, oddly remniscient of the Wonder Stuff, but maybe I'm just hearing the same influences represented.

At the end of the day most people contributing to this thread are plugging something in their sig line.

And given we're all giving out our tracks as free streams these days - where's the harm in it. For example I clicked on Posh's link and enjoyed his music - because I like punk. (btw Posh hit up So Shush on myspace I know some DJs who definitely play you)

Without little people putting their stuff out there and trying to tell people about it the only music we'll ever get to hear will be what NME and Smash Hits decide for us.

There is certainly room for debate on the subject, especially as it bumps your thread as you've so eloquently pointed out.

Promotion for the sake of promotion (Joining a forum just to post threads full of nothing but adverts is a good example.) is generally considered to be obtrusive and a little rude. If that etiquette makes no sense to you then you should probably stay out of the promotional side of things and stick to just playing music.

Its a fine line between promoting your band and blindly spamming discussion boards, and I know its frustrating because obviously you want your music to reach as many people as possible, but the reason that so many bands don't just spam boards is that it generally engenders more bad feeling than it does good. Possibly the only one good bit of association that you can garner from it is that people normally assume that any band spamming forums is either signed or just starting out and don't know better. So you're percieved to be either excusably ignorant or successful.
