| Re: So Shush Releasing Their Second Album Haha, this thread in general is mad but the last post is amazing. The point of a music discussion forum is as a forum for discussion of music, the point of this particular sub forum is for active members to post about things which they might be involved with, info that they think will interest or for local businesses (as no matter what we say, the site is Glasgow-centric) more than for random spammers like yourself, the fact that all your threads occupy the top 7 threads in this section in less than two weeks prove that you're here for nothing but spam. On the first two pages you'd be lucky to find the same person posting twice even though the last thread on the 2nd goes back to Dec '07.
Here's your problem, why should the people who contribute money to keep this site going for us pay the bandwidth for your adverts? Whether it's the admin, the users donations or the Classic Grand if they even do, ect, (even though two of them are the same people but different entities). Sure we don't have to look at them, but liberties are being taken here.
All that and I don't even really care.
Apart from this question to the guy from the band, you said this is getting people to listen to new music/your music, but I could fire up a million programs or sites (Spotify, Last.fm, Pandora, Pitchfork), hell even a random blog would tell me more and would be more tailored to my own tastes and give a more personal (both mine and the recommender's) insight. It would have some feeling and relevancy, rather than some regurgitated blurb. The old model is dead, bombarding people with advertising does nothing but bore/annoy, perfect example and easy target is every manufactured X-Factor/Idol, ect act - they have no traction by the next year, hardly anyone buys their record (how quaint) and no one goes to see them. People want to connect to the artists and feel like they're special, that they're in for a real treat. What does this do for you? Up your Myspace play count so it looks better? If you did like random little forums like ours, you'd know people's reactions to spammers, street teams and other invasive advertising and not be as shocked and protective as you have been. You even fell for Dec's instigating. Obvious troll was obvious, and the goat got eaten.
In all honesty, I hope no one from yourselves or the label are paying for this guy to post this stuff, 'cause it's lifted and slightly altered from the Wiki page on your band or maybe that's just been done by these guys as well...
I'm off to the gym. |

So are you, or are you not, advertising?
A simple "Yes I am" or "No I am not" will suffice, thanks. |

| Re: So Shush Releasing Their Second Album Don't really give a shit what you think on this, Rikki, to be honest.
Spammers annoy the crap out of me, especially when they insult people's intelligence by pretending not to be spammers. |

the person in question has contributed enough to continue discussion in this thread.
you're making yourself out to be the law around here to people who've signed up and sadly that's not the case.
the report button is over at the side, if you don't like posts use it, stop abusing "new members". your opinion of them is not what runs the site. |

| Re: So Shush Releasing Their Second Album Their continual advertisements wouldn't bother me if they were at least honest about it, like the advertising account BBC Scotland have. Surely nobody has so little going on in their life that they feel the need join a forum with the only goal being to repost press releases. And if they don't even have the ability to discuss the band then I reckon they probably aren't the fan they profess to be. |

Anyway, what is going on in the world of indie these days? Tell us all how Florence (not her machine) was compared to Hitler, or how La Roux said that R&B was a pile of shite. Come on, prepare us for the indie ladies rounding male singer/songwriters and their fans into cold festival showers. |
