| Re: So....What are you currently listening to? U.S. Maple - 'Long Hair in Three Stages'
The best US Maple album i've heard, and in my opinion probably the best in deconstrucivist rock. Better than beefheart even? On this album, aye. Oxbow - 'Serenade In Red'
Repulsively weird, Led Zeppelin/Birthday Party shit with a perverted bent, and Yow-esque 'singing'. Totally rockin, always unnerving. Polvo - 'Exploded Drawing
I bought 'shapes' back when i was in the early stages of touch 'n' go records fanboyinsm. It was ok, i listened to it maybe 10 times or something. Ok. Just OK.
I got hold of exploded drawing, thisa album is Excellent. Weird Pavement/Chavez stuff, kind of like I'm Being Good and sonic youth, but quite proggy, while still being indie-rock circa early 1990's. Excellent album! Mark Hollis - Untitled Solo Album
Talk Talk frontman's amazing solo effort, a really personal, quiet, involved record, but pretty serious listening. Hollis sounds really affected, but in the only way i don't hate or find off-putting. If you liked Spirit of Eden by Talk Talk, this is gonna be up your street. Extra good points for the recording method and results, which i love. Great great singer.
