You made it sound like I must have really sinister reasons, haha. | My 1st attempt at uni was Stirling, hated the course, hated university and had 2 babies, so left. I went back (2nd attempt) to do medicine at Glasgow and 9yrs and 3 degress later, I've finished. It was what I expected, but bloody hard work and now I think about it quite time consuming. I wouldn't be in the job I am without my degree(s).
I didn't experience the whole student social thing, but that's cos I had personal commitments different from the average student.

| Re: Did you go to University? Mentally I fell as though I'm ready to choose something to study at this stage in my life whereas when i left school I really really wasn't.
Going back now wouldn't be a great financial option for me although I'm in a much more focused place now and anything I chose would be because I really wanted to see it through and develop. My first degree I only gained because I would have been utterly ashamed to jack it without finishing it.
What a strange way I used to think. |

| Re: Did you go to University? I bet there's more billionaires without degrees than with, and by a very large margin.
Not that NOT having a degree assures you of becoming a billionaire!

Anyhow, you can't take any advice from someone who spent ten years getting one degree!

| Re: Did you go to University? These billionaires eventually have to resort to 'buying' their degrees thru' some trickery and are so damn chuffed when they do, the world has to hear about it. It's not always about money, but having money gives you the option of saying with confidence "it's not always about money", I suppose.

| Re: Did you go to University? Obviously I'm not that actually all that concerned about not being a billionaire (a few million would do) but I don't want to be stuck doing something I hate for the rest of my life just to scrape by. Not that getting a degree is a ticket to The Fun Careers and Free Money Centre or anything. |

Anyhow, you can't take any advice from someone who spent ten years getting one degree! | See that's why you're easily confused...you did a 'special' 10yr degree

| Re: Did you go to University? The trick to getting a good job is to be a useful and interested person. If you ain’t enjoying or getting anything out of your degree course, then you’re studying the wrong subject. If you ain’t engaged with the subject now, you can’t expect to enjoy working in that field for the forseeable future either. If you don’t enjoy something, you’re unlikely to be great at it.
I may have just said the same thing four different ways. Hmmm. |

| Re: Did you go to University? Amy if it's any consolation I am in the exact same position.
Wondering whether or not to apply for a different course or just scrap it altogether.
I have awesome friends who keep saying "uni's not for everyone". But I don't want to feel like I've let myself down
