Home Insurance

My home insurance is coming up for renewal and I was wondering if anyone could recommend some good companies. I'm currently with HBOS and they're charging 500 pounds for a 2 bedroom flat. I'm pretty much looking for something a bit cheaper.

Re: Home Insurance

Jesus! I'm with Lloyds TSB brokering for Royal & Sun Alliance and I'm £25 a month for £30k contents cover and full buildings, both including accidental damage.

Did a quick google and this came up too.

I know. My mum is only paying 200 pounds per year for a three bedroom house with garage.

But then my mum doesn't live in Maryhill.

I just read the policy statement that the bank sent me to sign - I'm not covered in the event of terrorism.

Re: Home Insurance

Look on a cpmparison site (Tesco compare/Confused/Money Supermarket). Most let you put in details of what you want from your cover and then compare like for like. Home insurance covers such a wide range of things you need to decide what kind of cover you want first. If it is cheap you want to go for then I am pretty sure Tesco do a Tesco Value policy (seriously). However, if you want new for old cover or have a number of valuable items you want to ensure are covered for any loss or damage then the premium will reflect this. You can get so many add ons and extras that it can be a nightmare which is why the comparison sites are good to use.
