I was thinking more the assessment centre process and the like that I'm in the middle of ( ) - the process is more drawn out and timeconsuming than for "normal" applying (at least when doing it when still in uni), but thanks for the link anyway!

Do you have access to prospects.ac.uk? Lots of handy wee tips on that about the process and other such things.

| Re: I'd like to make a compensation claim against my letting agent - where do I stand? Yep, I'm on there. Other than a couple of ones I'm waiting on hearing from just now its a case of waiting for the smaller firms to start their advertising for their positions in the next 6 weeks. Stress is what its doing to me and it puts me far less in the mood for moving out right now. Hence why I'd rather get this sorted, claim compensation if I can, and reassess things when the lease expires in August.

| Re: I'd like to make a compensation claim against my letting agent - where do I stand? What World is Andy Blip living in? 'Problem with your flat? Just move out. No bother with trying to sort it, or thinking of the dozens of ramifications either way of just upping anchor and leaving, or that you've probably got life commitments that prevent such an option from being in any way possible. Nah, my advice is just move out.'
If you're going to rip someone, pick your battles a little more carefully.

| Re: I'd like to make a compensation claim against my letting agent - where do I stand? i work for a letting agent, and as part of a standard short assured tenancy agreement, which i assume is what you have, you are entitled to your rent back on a pro-rata basis for the days that you have been without heating or hot water. |

| Re: I'd like to make a compensation claim against my letting agent - where do I stand? Saying your landlord 'fobbed you off' when you spoke to them on the subject will doom any compensation claim you make.
You have to speak with the landlord on the subject, write down a list of complaints you make and either write to them or phone them with it if they're really that unpleasant to you in person. You don't have to enumerate them as a bullet-pointed list (Sorry, I can actually see you doing this.) just ensure that you have clearly communicated all of your complaints and intentions. (citizens advice bureau, seeking compensation etc) Then you might actually have a case for compensation. Might. |
