| Re: Savings? It's hard to save when you are skint, so I'm not a saver. Currently I focus on paying my credit card bill since the interest I pay (and thus loose) on that is much more than the interest I get on any savings. Very soon I'm gonna start looking at pensions I think though. |

| Re: Savings? I stick about £100 a month into an ISA. Not really saving for anything in particular (except possibly a deposit for a house eventually), but things like Car Insurance / MOT etc are taken out of it when required. I'd feel physically sick if I didn't have any savings and I dunno how people can go about their lives without having any.

| Re: Savings? i dont save into an account or anything but i do keep a penny jar. i stick away a few quid a week and hang onto it til i really need it. being very skint very often it comes in handy. i had about £115 in it until recently when i ran out of money and took £30 out. its a fucking cool penny jar too. its like a little pink ATM machine and it counts your money as you put it in.
i hate not saving up my change, i like the security of knowing theres a wee bit of cash there if i need. once im earning enough ill probably try and put a couple of hundred away a month for moving out. well actually ill save for a holiday first....

Only time I saved was when I was moving up here, as i knew I wouldn't have a job for a while.

| Re: Savings? ive got diddly squat savings, pay into my mortgage and the rest goes on bills. Once ive cleared my debt off though i should theoretically be able to put money away. We'll see though

I save some, not as much as I should though.
I love it at the time, but see when I think back to how much cash I've spent on just "going out", it's criminal...And it annoys me a bit.

It's only money. I'd rather have a good time. If I get hit by a bus tomorrow, what good are savings to me then, EH?! |

| Re: Savings? £50 in Premium Bonds a month, that's about all I manage regularly after the mortgage and bills. Managed to put away an additional £200 the other month for my holiday in June, aiming to try keep that up if it's possible.

| Re: Savings? I stick religiously to the 60% budget system. So between short term savings (emergency fund), medium term savings (ISA) and long term savings (mortgage deposit) I save roughly 30% of my earnings each month, and will hopefully continue to do so throughout the coming years.

| Re: Savings? I'm a happy mix of both, once the bills are paid, I stick £300 into savings & £100 into a pension and spend the rest in Topshop & Lush!!
Like someone said above, I hate not having savigs, although I'll probably be removing the majority of my savings later in the year for a deposit on a house. |

Come july I'll put away more, cause then I'll finally have paid off THAT FUCKING CLIO I sold about 3 years ago.

| Re: Savings? I put away £80 a month, birthday pressent money and the contents of my paypal account when it hits £100 (any balance under £100 is sure to be spent on nonsense) into savings. Then twice a year, I go to the US, and spend it all on ridiculous shoes, too many clothes and anything i can get my hands on in AP and sephora. I pobably wouldn't buy the stuff I buy on holiday if I was at home, and justify it because it's my 'holiday spends'.
I'm a saver so I can be a spender! |
