I think a lot of people feel that there’s something tacky about parading romance around on the internet in front of everybody … whereas petty arguments about technicalities are the stuff AltNation is made of.

i dont want to get married. the idea kinda scares me, but i want a wedding and a hen night though. its not so much the idea of spending forever with one person that worries me, is more the thought of the hassle incase something went wrong and the expense of a divorce.

I got married nearly two years ago, and despite having problems (that we are working through), I am happy being married. We were having those same problems before we got married, so its not as a result of being married.
I didn't want a big flash wedding, and would quite happily have had people back to ours for cold sausage rolls and sandwiches, but Monster in Law overruled us on that,
The idea of a Ł2000 dress terrifies me. I baulk at spending that amount of money anyway, never mind a dress I would only wear once. Hopefully | |

Oh and in relation to other points:
1. We didn't have stag/hen nights. I went to bingo as was my normal routine (I know, its sad, but I like bingo)
2. We got married because we wanted to. and love each other, and can't ever see ourselves being with anyone else. Nothing to do with rights or anything. We already had a joint mortgage anyway.
3. We did get a bit of "Ohh thats old fashioned" and "aren't you a bit young to be getting married?" (I was 24 and he was 26, and we'd been together for 5 years by that point)
4. I didn't want the wedding, and would have skipped the whole thing altogether if it weren't for family pressure. We just wanted to be married. | |

the idea of a £2000 dress gives me the heebies. if i was to get married im going to wear my mums dress, but have it altered slightly (and made bigger, the last time i could zip it up i was about 12....the most annoying thing is i aint even fat. my mum was just uber skinny)
