Re: Bookmooch - Free Book Exchange

thats a nice idea.

I also like the idea of leaving a book in a random place for someone else to find, then have them leave it for someone else

Re: Bookmooch - Free Book Exchange

I just discovered this so I'm going to revive a dead thread, I was sceptical about it at first but this is really a wonderful site. Essentially you list all the old books you don't want and someone will come along and ask you to send them one. If you send it to another country you get given 3 points and you can have someone send you a book for one point. So in essence, you send away one book you didn't want, plus the cost of postage, and you get 3 books you do want in return. If you wanted to keep doing that you could end up with hundreds of books without spending a penny.

Re: Bookmooch - Free Book Exchange

I signed up today. I'll be putting a lot of graphic novels and philosophy books up.

Re: Bookmooch - Free Book Exchange

Good stuff, I've only been using this for about a week, but as far as I can tell the main problem is getting in on a book you want before someone else snaps it up. At the moment the selection isn't that bad, but obviously the more people signing up the better.

Re: Bookmooch - Free Book Exchange

ReadItSwapit.com is a similar idea as well. The added bonus is that you don't have to swap your books unless the other person has books you want to read. I used to use Titletrader but it was rather annoying posting books off to someone in the US who never had the decency to post books outside of America.

Re: Bookmooch - Free Book Exchange

my graphic novels are going pretty much as soon as I post them. Nothing else seems to be shifting tho. Strangely enough a lot of Americans want the David Icke book I posted...
