| Re: The writers thread I think I would be more encouraged by talking to other writers about what I produce. I live too far away to meet in pubs (shame) but I am sure we could get something going on here if there is interest?

| Re: The writers thread Oh, a writers group on here. What a cool idea.
I'm always in the process of writing something, whether it be a short story, a novel (got a nice 139,000-word piece sitting doing nothing), a spoof article or (as has been the case more often recently) a comic script. My discipline for writing has dropped off in the last few years, I used to be able to sit at the computer and churn out up to a thousand words a night. Now I find that I'm only writing a day or so a week. This is something I'm in the middle of remedying.

| Re: The writers thread I wrote alot when i was at uni, epecially the last year due to one of my units being 'expresssive writing', and was told that, with more focus, i could concievably produce some not shite stuff.
I tend to fail in the planning area of writing. Im a terrible planner, always have been - I tend to lose interest before ive even begun. I sit and write and have no idea which direction it might take.
I like the idea of a writers group - it would be useful to get some perspective on how others initially approach their ideas; if they have a clear cut point by point plan or if they work from just an idea and fill in the rest as they go along.

Curious...what's the novel loosely about?

| Re: The writers thread I write a lot, mostly short horror of a M.R. James/A.M. Burrage variant.
Though I also seem to write quite a bit in the Gaiman/Adams style.
They shouldn't really mesh, I think.
