| Re: The SYT SYT are great at what they do. a number of my friends work for them and a lot of people are doing very well in the industry following SYT participation. that said, SYT has never been about making stars and is more about developing young people and encouraging them to reach their full potential in whatever they do...

| Re: The SYT I went to SYT classes for around aprox: 2000-2003 and wound up doing not one but two summer festivals. Also I worked as an usher for sometime as well. It's a good way to get started and SYT Productions gives you a good experience similar to working on a professional theatre production.
One of my summer festival directors is playing Harry in River City :-D |

also did summer festival in '95 (John Paul Jones), and worked as an usher from '97 until the ath shut.
was talking to one of the workies at the ath the other week who let me in to have a look, which was a right trip down memory lane.

I'm afraid '96 was a bit before my time. And I was an usher in the RSAMD and, occasionally, in Renfield St Stephens. Though I heard many great things about the old building. Kids being kids used to say some people had gone missing in the catacombs. I started the classes in 2001 after a failed Summer Festival audition and did the Summer Festival in 2002 and 2003. |

EDIT - ah, i'm thinking of a different guy. Carter though! yeay.

another interesting fact - david carter and carter ferguson are the same person. it's very confusing. his website is www.fightdirector.com Quote:

. | I did Summer Festival the year he directed Merlin: The Wild Boy. He must have been thrilled as he had lots of lovely swords to much about with. Most of them were from his own collected as well! Hahaha some of the people who had swords were told off for playing about with them in between rehearsals. We were preforming at the RSAMD and their security guards weren't too happy. |
