Re: what does ballet mean?

i know what you mean, subjectives rank.

i'm trying to read about ballet on wikipedia but jeez oh it's a long page! i love the bit where it says in the middle ages the church tried to ban it lol. religion hates things it can't understand, like it's worried about going back to the anarchy. the romans had it right, they assimilated. oh wait it wasn't the greeks who did it, it was the italians! and the french! see it is misogyny! no way would the french and italians change something that wasn't all about getting laid. still though, nothing drives the creative spirit like the anticipation of getting off with someone. wikipedia is mad, like everything relates to something else. the word ballet comes from the latin ballere and we call a room full of people dancing a ball. or a balls up if it's the cathouse.

i think you might be right about me seeing it in person rather than on tv cause there must be something to it. i'm just a bit scared of arts i don't understand 'cause folk have their own ideas on it and will tell you the structure of it and why it works and it all makes sense but somehow that kinda takes away the original idea which is to provoke original ideas regards thoughts and emotions. mind you the stab in the eye bit is some things do need explaining so as to lift a viel and then you can see what people are trying to express. it's dear though! last time i looked at a ballet price it was £30 for the cheap seats!

any of yous ever been to a ballet, what is your favourite one? swan lake seems to be a common one but i keep hearing the music when i think of that. i know it's a good idea to marry the arts but is it a reflection on the limit of one's attention span or intellect or maybe even limited capacity when dance is very rarely performed without music?
