The first few sections were an interesting expose of immoral corporate practice but the later sections where she starts evangelising random pressure groups are a little tedious. That and she seems to want to have her cake and eat it as far as identity politics and femism are concerned. Identity politics are rightly identified (IMO) as the cause that neutered the academic left but at the same time lauded as the root cause of anti-consumerism via feminism. Asides from that, and the occassional one sided emotive example, it was a good wee book.

37. Yukito Kishiro - Battle Angel Alita (A manga series, but im counting the 9 volumes as one book for this list)
38. Ian Cameron Esselmount - Return of the Crimson Guard (A Novel of the Malazan Empire) - The second book by ICE in the Malaz world he and Stephen Erikson created (Night of Knives is the first). Its set between books 7 and 8 of Eriksons books. Contains a few events i really didnt see coming at all. I wasn't sure going into it how much impact he would have on the overall story line of the 2 series, but there are definitley major developments. The first book was based before book 1 of Eriksons books, so to write one that is in the same timeframe must have been a challenge. Overall a really good book. The slightly weird thing was that i knew some things about "Traveller" who is in this book from reading book 8 or Eriksons.
