he came back for a couple of months but went back out there not that long ago.

I keep meaning to go to the GSFWC, but never seem to do it. Haven't seen him in ages.

he's too busy being abroad with the other half. apparently it's far cheaper to live over there so i think he'll be there for a while still.

Yeah. I'd heard things to that effect. Good luck to him.

I highly recommend the latter.
I think i've probably read 50 this year already. Am i supposed to list them? I work in a bookshop so i do have more access to books than your average person, and i spend at least 3 hours every weekday on public transport. I average 4- 6 books a week(not counting uni books, do they count too?). My favourite so far has been The Icarus Girl by Helen Oyeyemi.
7. Gabriel Garcia Marquez - Clandestine In Chile
8. Milan Kundera - The Joke
9. Hermann Hesse - Narziss and Goldmund
10. Malcolm Lowry - Dark As The Grave Wherin My Friend is Laid
11. Michel Houellebecq - Atomised
12. Ben Elton - Popcorn
13. Will Self - The Quantity Theory Of Insanity
14. Daniel Farson - The Gilded Gutter Life of Francis Bacon: The Authorized Biography
A brilliant biography by Bacon's close friend Daniel Farson, it's not so much a biography as it is a book of memoirs by the author. Giving rare insight into Bacon's formative years in Ireland and his bohemian lifestyle in London whilst detailing with his ascent to international acclaim.
Interestingly enough Bacon wouldn't allow the book to be published until after his death, which is understandable given the colourful life he led.

Wow that was excellent, i hadn't realised until now that all of Beckett's plays had been adapted, there's an incredible amount of acting and directing talent involved. Even Harold Pinter pops up as the director in 'Catastrophe'.
They've all been compiled into a DVD boxset which i'd like to see at some point, when it's not, you know fucking extortionate.
