| theatre forum I was wondering if anyone knows of any good forums connected to the theatre. Basically I am putting on a play at the Edinburgh Fringe this year and could probably do with advice on most things. Also does anyone know a good place to advertise for actors on the Internet? I have tried google etc but can't seem to get what i want.

| Re: theatre forum If you need actors I would imagine the RSAMD would have a notice board of some sort.

| Re: theatre forum I have a venue for 2008, just a small one (100 seats) already secured. The deadline for most administrative things like the 40 words for the programme is end of March or beginning of April - must check! I am planning on directing it - i have some limited experience, but with a cast of 3 actors shouldn't be too out of my depths.

| Re: theatre forum There's email addresses for the folks at STaG (Student Theatre at Glasgow) here: http://www.stagstage.co.uk/boardmembers.htm
they will certainly be able to give you some pointers. I drummed for their last series of shows and there were certainly some talented people involved.

| Re: theatre forum thanks dj i will contact them although i guess if they're doing a show for the fringe they won't want someone pinching their actors. :P
It's so annoying I've not had any replies from drama schools I e-mailed, might phone them up nearer the time when i need actors.
Throughout the plays there is the green fairy, the two other actors change parts although i haven't finalised their roles as i have only written one of the plays so far.

| Re: theatre forum hm... magazines like the skinny etc might let you post a wee notice in it for free. similarly the metro might and things like that. If you're really stuck what about going further afield to places like Reid Keir college and the folk who will have just finished their HND. Just been to the HND play of One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest the other night and i was actually blown away by the talent of some of those guys. |

Its amazing! | that sounds great although not sure if someone like that would be interested in my play, it's quite low budget.
Also i managed to get a few colleges interested and i'm going to get posters printed detailing the auditions, so not too worried about that now.
Anyway I have another question hopefully some of you people with more experience than me can help out. I am doing three short one act plays in just over an hour. I am wondering when i should start rehearsals, I was thinking June and July - the fringe starts the 3rd of august. I was thinking of doing 2 days a week - so that would be a total of 16 days - what do people think???
