Thoroughly Modern Millie, 29 Apr - 03 May, Giffnock

The Eastwood Entertainers are doing Thoroughly Modern Millie next week at the Eastwood Park Theatre in Giffnock. It's about a girl who moves from Kansas to New York to marry her boss - what an outrageously modern notion!

It's a truly fantastic show, full of great music and songs (in a 20s style, including some wonderful dixieland stuff, with instructions in the score like "sock it to 'em!" and "full jolson"), and the choreography is looking outstanding. There's even a real American in the cast. Could be fun trying to guess which. Plus there's some hotties in the cast. try not to think about the view i get from the orchestra pit

(I haven't seen the film but I gather that it sucks... but the show is immense, so don't let that put you off if you have seen the film and didn't like it).

The theatre is in Giffnock, here (next to St Ninians high school):

(It's apparently fairly easy to get to on a bus from the city centre on the 38, or you get a train to Giffnock and walk for about ten minutes. Or even blag a lift from me, potentially.)

You can get tickets by calling 0141 639 5361.

If you're not already dialling: how many other shows explicitly refer to Sodom and Gomorrah in the title track? What more do you want?

This'll give you some idea of what it's like, but I couldn't find anything that comes close to doing it justice on yootoobe:
