| First book you ever read I did a wee search and couldnt find any similar thread. Whats the first actual proper (not like "The dog ate the cheese") book you remember reading?
Mine was "Charlottes Web" in Primary One. I loved it but was then hysterical at the end and was wailing at my mum (aged 5) "but I don't want too diiiiiiie" Poor mum. Anyone else reember their first ever real book? |

| Re: First book you ever read The Hodgeheg by Dick King Smith. I had the audio tape and I'd read it along with the tape when I was little. I loved that book. I can still remember much of the story, and even with my shockin memory for names I managed to remember the author without a second thought
That's true dedication. |

| Re: First book you ever read I remember reading The Twits, Matilda and The BFG when I was fairly young, but I think The Hodgeheg was the first (mainly because of the audiotape). |

Which I promptly then forgot about until they made a movie of it. Still a decent book. |
