Dead Babies - Martin Amis.

I read this ages ago and remember thinking I didn't really get it. Really enjoyed it this time, but again kind of felt like I should read it again. Martin Amis has that effect on me.

18. You'll Never Walk Alone - Debbie Singh

Written by an Aussie woman who campaigned for prisoners' rights after her brother was locked up for ten years in a Thai jail for cheque fraud. It's really interesting, she goes above and beyond the call of duty.

Aye, I enjoyed most of that book but found the ending very "Wtf?" Seems like it's making a point about something, but I've no idea what.

Really interested me and unlike other Tolstoy books it sticks with one main character. I was disapointed in the ending though didn`t read like a proper conclusion to the story, seem to end ubruptly, but the rest was well written and i thought a lot of the political issues were still relevant today.

It was *quite* good but not as in-depth as I'd hoped. Very accessible and easy to read but her style's a bit messy and she draws some strange conclusions. Still, at a meagre £1 I can't really knock it.

Haha, I remember I used to love Bargain Books! Really enjoyed most of that book at the time, but I've just finished an amazing collection of similar tales ("Late Victorian Gothic Tales") so it now pales in comparison. Congratulations on hitting fifty, by the way.
