| Ben Goldacre lecture - Mitchell Library, Glasgow, 7th March
Ehhh, don't know if this should go in this forum but it's not really a "gig" and it's part of the "Aye Write" book festival, so here seemed appropriate.
Anyway, for anyone who cares, Ben Goldacre of Bad Science blog/columns/book fame is giving a talk about something or other in the Mitchell Library in Glasgow a week tomorrow at 3pm.

though it did remind me of a wee joke. Two negatives make a positive but only in Scotland do two positives make a negative, Aye right!

This was pretty good, pretty much just "highlights of the book", though. And he was a bit pushed for time so there was no Q+A and he had to cut a section on 'superfoods'.

Definitely a book promo tour, but there’s nothing wrong with that. Turns out he’s an eloquent public speaker and funny bloke to boot. The part about the shed cracked me up.

Was quite good. My boyfriend enjoyed it which gives us, horror of horrors, a shared common interest. He definately needed much more than an hour though. | |
