| Gimme some plays... The only way i am getting to see plays i might be interested in doing is by doing scenes of them or seeing others do them.
just ordered A Lie of the Mind because i saw my friend perform Jake's scene and it looked awsome and we have been working on A View from the Bridge but need some more ideas.
Any other plays i should try out?

| Re: Gimme some plays... My favourite play is probably Interview by Jean Claude van Italie
It's on amazon for a penny (!) here: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/offer-lis...9271569&sr=8-3
in a collection called America Hurrah and Other Plays
There's a review here.
It's about erosion of individuality in modern America, or something... Just brilliantly written. I saw it performed many years ago and it was a thrilling experience - really chilling in a way, the audience was more transfixed than I've ever seen and at the end we were all a bit shell shocked. Not sure it works QUITE as well reading it from a book, as with all plays I guess. Quote:

just seemed funny that someone "corrected" you by making the spelling just as bad

The Merchant of Venice can also be quite hilarious. Shakespeare just rocks my world in general

| Re: Gimme some plays... Brilliant! Thanks guys for all the suggestions, been on the net ordering up as many as i can!
For some reason i seem to be drawn to plays which often has a vunerable female role (i.e. lie of the mind) so was hoping to find something which steers away from this most of these are great! esp the Sartre, came across another of his plays and it seemed great!
any others throw them at me - in a major reading mood now that i have been told i can continue with my LAMDA currently reading "6 Characters in search for a Author" to try and find some material!
