Fantastic novel, which you would find in the science fiction section but definately surpasses that genre. Unlike many science fiction novels the author uses her imagination and avoids any cliches.
The kind of book where you want to read every word and description which all add to the story and atmosphere.
The main character Isaac der Grimnebulin is a scientist having a scandelous relationship with an insect type alien. There is no evidence that the novel is set on earth, and the origins of where the book is set is never mentioned, but it comes across as kind of post apocalyptic.
Through a series of events, a crisis occurs, and Isaac with his companions set about making things right.
I got really into it after reading the first few words and am going to find any more of her novels.
I would give this book 10/10 - i can find no faults, although if you are dead against Sci Fi you might not like it, but it is a great and interesting novel. |
