| Lost Souls? Just finish reading a book called Lost Souls? by Poppy Z. Brite. I'm just posting here to recommend it to everyone who can get their hands on a copy! its totally amazing. It's a vampire novel, but not a regular one, full of parties where they get wrecked on cocktails of blood vodka and acid! its a totally crazy book. Anyone else here ever read it? |

| thats what i liked about it, it took all the teenage gothic angst that we have all seen so many examples of and totally played off it! It inspired me to go out and but a bottle of chartreuse and boy did it live up to the book! |

| Yes!! Lost Souls is good but not Poppy Z.Brite's best - she's this generations answer to Anne Rice I feel. Seen as Anne Rice sold out completely then proceeded to milk the vampire chronicles for all they were worth! Ahem, but I digress, if you liked Lost Souls you should give Drawing Blood a spin - it's wonderful, not about vampires but again set in Missing Mile and a few familiar faces crop up, it's far stronger than Lost Souls.
Swamp Foetus was out of circulation for a bit but was re-published under the title Self-Made Man if you're looking for it - there are some kick ass lil' pieces of work in there.
And if you'll still hungry for more try Exquisite Corpse, although that ain't for the faint hearted I'm not even sure what to make of that one.....
Can you tell I'm a Brite fan :o
peace
x

| hears poppy is moving away from the goth genre. Oh no! Read "Exquisite Corpse" next. Very hard to take, violence is very graphic, but Tran and Luke are such tragic characters |
