| Re: Most Lent Book? I'm quite possessive with my books. I recommend them a lot, but try and avoid lending them, 'cos they always come back bashed. Been recommending the 'new' Hicks books a lot of late.

| Re: Most Lent Book? Ditto - I'm a bit too possessive of my books also. I recently lent out a 1940's Japanese book on origami, but that's about it.
if I really want someone to read a book, I generally buy them a copy instead of giving them mine.
Erm... I guess the Hicks one Kenny's referring to is Love All the People... But I could be wrong.

| Re: Most Lent Book? Generally, you're better off seeing Hicks than hearing or reading him. I recommend a DVD or video, rather than one of the books.

| Re: Most Lent Book? Well, he wasn't really ever much of a writer. Love All the People is a collection of interviews with him, interspersed with a wee biography and lots of transcripts of his stand-up shows. The transcripts aren't really all that interesting if you've already seen or heard the material - without his delivery much of it falls flat. The interviews are worth reading.

| Re: Most Lent Book? My original copy of Trainspotting did the rounds a fair bit, ended up buying a new one not long ago. My copy of Memoirs of a Geisha has seen better days too, but only cos I force everyone I meet to read it. |
