NEW YORK (Reuters) -- David Hyde Pierce, Tim Curry and Hank Azaria were named Wednesday as the leading trio for next year's Broadway-bound production of Monty Python's "Spamalot."
| Not quite movies and TV, but there's no real place to stick other stuff like broadway musicals |

| Re: Spamalot - A Monty Python Musical After I get back from Scotland I'm going to see The Producers - the Vegas cast has David Hasselhoff in the gay Hitler/director role. The Hoff. Gay Hitler. GENIUS. |

| Re: Spamalot - A Monty Python Musical Channel 4 news did a pretty long feature on Spamalot a while ago, which was sadly wasted by them simply asking the same question ("is this just cashing in?") several different ways, to a few people.
Seeing David Hyde Pierce woulda been fantastic I think, I've seen him do stand-up on TV a couple of times and he was excellent, and was of course more talented than the rest of the cast put together on Frasier
Even without the Broadway cast though there's scope for it to be joyous I'm sure; have fun!

Man, that'd have been great.

| Re: Spamalot - A Monty Python Musical I felt pretty conflicted watching this tonight...
Hearing very familiar lines delivered in American pseudo-British accents was fairly nightmarish to me and my mum (hey, she introduced me to Monty Python, she gets to come along to Spamalot), not too many folks noticed in the audience.
The show was a blend of some brilliant theatre jokes, classic Python comedy (they included a few songs from other films/works), and then random Jewish stereotyping and jokes about fairies/gays. I was a bit disappointed to watch members of the audience walk out during the smashing number "We Need Jews To Be On Broadway", and heard more than a few folk softly hurl a curse or two at some comments about fairies.
Now, they localize the various productions of the show for the areas that they are playing in, and the Vegas production was no different. Camelot was represented as the spitting image of the Excalibur Hotel and Casino ( http://www.wayne.caswell.net/images/...as%20Vegas.jpg ), the Round table was round because it had a roulette wheel on it, and a fair few Vegas this, Vegas that jokes.
Sadly, Vegas seems to have tapped out the market for decent performers in musicals by getting the Hoff in The Producers this year, so the lead for King Arthur is a relative unknown by the name of John O'Hurley (some may remember him from Seinfeld as J. Peterson..I guess...he also provides the voice of King Neptune on Spongebob Squarepants)
Snapped a couple of photos of the place on my way in before some random officious person started yelling at me (boooooo) |

| Re: Spamalot - A Monty Python Musical If I couldn't get tickets for Avenue Q I was going to see Spamalot. I think we all know how that turned out.
I've seen the Round Table Number and the Song That Goes Like This and they're fab. I'm interested to see how it all comes together.
Did it win any Tonys? |

| Re: Spamalot - A Monty Python Musical Went to see this on Saturday, first time I've been to a musical and I thought it was amazing - seriously funny. I wasn't sure how they'd convey it on the stage but it all seemed to work and I was pishing myself for all of it. |
