| Re: We need to talk about kevin i've just finished it - really enjoyable and potentially one of the most effective methods of contraception ever the mum is a travel writer who owns her own business. she gives up the travel when she becomes pregnant and really resents it. she just doesn't like children at all - and is karmically gifted with a surly, calculating genius son who cries non stop when he's with her, but plays up to daddy from the word go. kid grows up, kid kills classmates...mum recounts past memories (kevin encouraged a child at pre school to pick off all of it's ezcema..) and visits to kevinin detention to her ex husband via a serise of letters. i found it gripping and twisty and think it's a kick-ass first novel.

| Re: We need to talk about kevin It was extremely well crafted definitely, but the problem I had with it was Eva. She had so many issues (I despise that word) and the way that she berated Franklin for "rounding up" was horrible I thought. It picked up fantastically in the final third though poor Celia. |
