Did this ever come to anything? Been thinking about reading groups and stuff lately and even asked at my local library....but I don't think I'd "fit in" with the group in general there, you know?

Seconded, Ive just bought a whole whack of books and I want to get some good personal reading done this summer while I still have the chance....currently on Boiling a Frog by Christopher Brookmyre cos it was on sale in Canada
