serves that bastard right, making so much money off other folks work. and doing it with such a badly written book.
http://www.sky.com/skynews/article/0...454039,00.htmlThe author of The Da Vinci Code is being sued by two men claiming he stole their ideas for his best-selling novel. Michael Baigent and Richard Leigh are suing the world's highest-paid writer, Dan Brown, over allegations that he lifted central themes from their non-fiction book. In their 1982 work, The Holy Blood and the Holy Grail, the authors explore theories that Jesus and Mary Magdalene were married and had a child together. They also propose that the direct descendents of that child are still alive today - the key concept behind the Dan Brown novel.
I've been waiting for this...read the books by Baigent and Leigh years and it was obvious where Brown got his story from. He's even been filmed saying that his story is based on thier first book. Well he claims its based on a true story which if you only read B & L's first book you might take that from it but when you read thier follow up books they admit theyve been tricked by folk.
I'll be interested to see just how much cash they get if they win though...

I can't say I'm in the least bit disappointed about this.
Doesn't he actually pay homage to that at some point in the book though? Like, not in any prelude, in the actual story?
I woulda thought that would've had a decent impact on their sales.
Hahaha, omg, EVERYONE knew that theory even BEFORE Holy Blood Holy Grail was written!
Fuckin arsepieces.
Although...The Da Vinci Code was ALOT more interesting.....

Idiots. The lot of you.
Good books, good author. 'roon ye's.
The whole point of the holy blood and the holy grail was thatthey were trying to prove it. It wasnt until the follow up books came out that you found out they were being tricked. It reads more like a mystery story of how they were tricked rather than about the holy bloodline of christ.Originally Posted by Bred_For_War

I didn't mind the book (nice easy holiday read) but it certainly doesn't merit the hype.
Clean out your mouth, Christian Bale...SOAP AND WATER!
I knew that'd annoy everyone.
He just plain overacts.
