The Joe Orton Diaries

I'm only a week in to this year long account of this extraordinary individuals diaries which were written before his jealous lover killed him before committing suicide. Joe Orton wrote such plays as What The Butler Saw (On for the rest of he week at the RSAMD), Ruffian On The Stair and an aborted Bealtes movie as well as being a good friend of Kenneth Williams. As that last clause suggested there is a not so much a queer streak as more a blow by blow (snigger) of his exploits that drove his live in lover to murder.
I can see the influences it has in my favourite book of all time, Kill Your Boyfriend. That serves to make it all the more essential for anyone who's into tragic romance, farce, queer literature, or just plain perving in on the diaries of someone who is probably more interesting than you - do you have the flair to come up with "On the way home I met an ugly Scotsman who said he liked being fucked. He took me somewhere in his car and I fucked him against a wall...

...I hate Christmas"?

delirium is on a distinguished road
Re: The Joe Orton Diaries

Gary Oldman did a great job of playing him Prick Up Your Ears.
