Re: Book inspiration

David Eddings is good

Invest in some David Gemmell too great read. The Drenai Tales were good. actually fuck it. David Gemmells just good in general. I defy you not to get hooked

Re: Book inspiration

I feel I always recommend the same books, but The Red Tent by Anita Diamant, and Cane River by Lalita Tademy are two that you should get - not particularly hard to read, very fluid writing style in both, but the subject matter is completely different to anything else I've ever picked up.

Other than that, Empty Cradles by Margaret Humphreys is a shocker to read - it's basically the memoirs of a Nottingham-based social worker who uncovered a project where children in foster care were sent to Canada, Zimbabwe and Australia without the consent of their family. I couldn't put it down.

Re: Book inspiration

If you fancy reading something exciting, historical, easy to read and about mathematics, you could do worse than Simon Singh's Fermat's Last Theorem. In fact, any Simon Singh book is amazing.

Re: Book inspiration

You should read Salman Rushdie - shalimar the clown, or John Banville - The Sea, both really good books.

Failing that, you should just go into Waterstones and buy anything with a Richard and Judy sticker on it, because they'll never let you down :-p
