Local councils across Scotland, including Glasgow, have given their backing to a new website which aims to increase public awareness in the run-up to the Scottish Parliamentary and council elections taking place on 3rd May 2007.
The website is part of a joint campaign by the Scottish Executive and the Electoral Commission. The campaign will give information about changes to the voting system, with Single Transferable Vote (STV) being introduced for the first time for council elections. The campaign will also encourage greater voter turnout in the elections.
The website also allows the public to take part in an informal survey on issues which they regard as the most important for their local councils, and it can be found by visiting
